For
real wind in the hair fun lovers, the
MG-F had been around for quite a while, but never really exploited.
Until the renaissance of the internationally renowned sporty MG brand,
MG Rover announced a major extension to its MG-F roadster line-up.
In
2001 there was to be a new 1.8 performance version amd a new 1.6 entry
level. The MG-F Trophy 160 was a special edition version of the 1.8
VVC and produced 160PS. In addition, it had larger disc brakes and
calipers, new 16" alloy wheels, uprated & lowered suspension,
rear & front end spoilers + some striking new colours.
Starting
prices were well below £16,000 (2001)
